In making this life painting of my mother, I was on a long canoe trip down to the Bodrog River. I carried out at the same time many practical and semantic drawings of my parents, on board of the canoe and during the simmering cooking time. In this picture she was in deep reading of a large book and I tried to realize my visual ideas, as the search for a simplified construction of her and the book form or as the placement of the figurative composition in a natural terrain with a lively and powerful vegetation.
