I created this painting based on a single photograph, which is part of a series of portraits of the same model. While I was working on the picture, that reference remained one of the major influences, especially for its deeply expressionistic and surrealistic features.
After the creation of this sketch, I produced more paintings based on the same series of photographs, until in the end, the paths were merged into a better formulated and more thoughtful painting.
