We are different, and for that reason, our reactions vary as well. Some people follow the current system almost blindly. Others, by contrast, seek out communities or collective spaces where there is at least some hope of preserving a form of spiritual support.

I’ve been reflecting on all of this—and I continue to do so—though I try not to let my thoughts become scattered. For that reason, I focus my attention on certain aesthetic and visual outcomes, on imagined ideas.
My aim is for these representations to reflect the personality traits that emerge within us when, as a community, we respond—in one way or another—to “nature’s response.”

That is precisely why, at the time, I made the decision to give shape to my ideas about certain archetypes which, based on my observations, are fundamental in a society where each of us responds in our own way to the horrors unfolding around us.

The elements of this series are structured around pairs of characters who are very different from one another. None of them are real in the strict sense of how I describe or depict them; they are personalities that either find their place within a community or focus their attention on their own individual well-being.

Among those with a more individualistic mindset, the first is someone who—although they once tried to understand and process what was happening around them by drawing on their own inner strength—eventually reached a point where they no longer wished to take on the growing burden of tasks facing both themselves and others. Today, they no longer wish to confront that mounting overload of responsibilities either.
