My intention is for these representations to reflect the personality traits that emerge within us when, as a community, we respond—in one way or another—to “nature’s response.”
It was precisely for this reason that I made the firm decision to give shape to my ideas about certain archetypes which, based on my observations, are fundamental in a society where each of us reacts differently to the horrors unfolding around us. The elements of the series are structured around pairs of characters who are markedly different from one another.
None of these characters are real as I describe or depict them; they are personalities that either find their place within a community or focus on their own individual well-being.
In each pair, the other character is the one who holds childhood memories where the most significant and lasting realization was understanding how their environment functioned.
Among the more individualistic thinkers, the first is someone who—although once they sought to understand and accept what was happening around them by drawing on their own inner strength—reached a point where they no longer wished to carry the growing burden of tasks facing both themselves and others. Nor do they now wish to confront the ever-multiplying weight of those responsibilities.
